TENSION AS THREE STOREY BUILDING SINKS AS A RESULT OF HEAVY RAINFALL IN IBADA OYO STATE

According to reports, a three-storey building in Ibadan, Oyo state, collapsed following heavy rainfall. The incident took place in the Inalende area of Mokola on the morning of July 24, 2023. Although there were eight people inside the residential building at the time, they were all rescued by both community members and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials.  The victims have been taken to the hospital for necessary treatment. Olarenwaju Sulaimon Abolore, an officer from the FRSC, confirmed this to BBC Yoruba. When asked about the cause of the collapse, he stated that, as an FRSC officer, he couldn't determine the exact cause, but he urged the government to send professionals to inspect other buildings in the community to prevent future disasters.
